How We Work
Quite often our clients have never worked with a professionally trained
Interior Designer. We are often asked "What can I expect it to
be like?" So we have prepared this outline to help you know more
about ...how we work!
We can do any, or all, of the below services:
Consult with you on your floor plans
We call this a "Plan Review" and spend up to 3 hours with
you to improve your plans. We cover traffic patterns, lighting design,
floor outlet locations, proper plumbing, flooring choices, storage,
window location and future treatments, i.e. Motorization, door location,
insulation needs, furniture locations and the first stages of kitchen
and bathroom design. (Costs $300 for up to 3 hours, additional appointments
and time on your plan is $125 per hour.)
Take an Interior Design Class
KayLynn teaches several different design classes. She has been teaching
many of them for 18 years. Pick up a flyer or visit our website for
updates and types of classes. She is also available for guest speaking
at any type of function, on any design topic –you can call to
arrange her as a speaker for your group by calling 435-634-1606.

Design Appointment
Consult with you on any, or all rooms, of an existing structure or new
construction.
We will listen carefully to all your ideas and concerns, and help you
formulate a design "master plan." We come for a one hour minimum
and stay as long as 3 hours. We then can go back to our extensive resources,
mostly from out of town, and create a master plan of ideas, samples
or drawings. (Min. $125 per hour in the home, or office appointments,
and $65 for office/design time. After your first purchase of products,
our fee drops to $95 Per hour for in home or office appointments. If
you purchase all your cabinetry, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures,
wood, stone, tile or carpet flooring, your counter surfaces are man-made
or natural, and your window coverings...from us...we will give you 10
hours of free design service...a $950 savings!)
Professional Kitchen and/or Bathroom Design
We will start at the beginning...We listen to how you use these areas
of greatest expense. We will offer design ideas in many areas and create
an overall "master plan". We will get into great detail of
each cabinet, appliance, counter surface, backsplash design, plumbing
fixtures, lighting design, floor selection/design, shower design, storage
areas and even the pantry. (You are initially paying for our ideas,
designs, drawings, and product selections. You may take these, as they
are yours, for a fee of $200 per hour. That is still about half of other
ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), NKBA (The National Kitchen
and Bath Association), and Professional Interior Designers, with 24
years experience like KayLynn. There is a retainer of $1500 and the
hourly fees thereafter are taken from this, as a draw. Any remainder
can be used toward products or will be refunded.)
A Total Cabinet Bid
We will take our finished drawings, or other companies set of finished
drawings, and can bid it out for all cabinets in the home-- for: type
of wood, stain, finish, hardware, and all the extra features. (We only
charge a flat $200 fee, no matter how long it takes. We have faith that,
apples to apples, we will be less expensive for our semi-custom cabinets
or for our total custom cabinets. We then can simply sign a purchase
contract with you for cabinets only, or it could be for the other above
mentioned items under kitchen design, and can order and install them
thru professional installers).
Curb Appeal Service
We walk your property from many angles and give you our best advice
on what you can do to improve its "Curb appeal" for yourself
or potential buyers. (This usually takes up to two hours for all 4,
or more, sides of the property and is a flat $250). I know we can be
of great help on your project. We have been doing this service for 12+years).
For Interior "Curb Appeal" for Potential Buyers
We will walk thru the entire home and make suggestions specifically
geared to attract buyers. We will write them all down for the home owners
or their agent and leave them a copy. (This usually takes 2 to 3 hours
and is a flat fee of $300).
Professional Organizing Service
We will come in casual attire to help you go through whatever un-organized
project you have, and create a totally organized space for you. This
could be a closet, an office, a bookcase or entertainment center, an
entire room, or entire home. (This is $95 per hour if we do it all,
and $75 per hour if you help the entire time. There is a two hour min.
for a total min. fee of $190. This could change your life and feeling
about your home. This does include help with or master plan of that
space, including, if applicable, color selection, furniture selection,
containers, labeling, hangers etc.)
Shopping With You ... Anywhere Locally
Many consumers need help with that final selection of furniture, rugs,
flooring, lighting, plumbing, accessories etc. Or others need help from
the very beginning. (Whether you purchase anything or not, it is a straight
$75.00 per hour. Then on any purchase that I can get a discount on,
i.e. Pier One, Designer Furniture, Boulevard Furniture, Carpets plus,
Gibson Carpet, Wilkinson’s lighting... to name only a few... whether
you or I write the check I get an additional 10% above my designer sale
price. Usually my discounts vary from 15-20% off retail. You will still
have saved money at the end of the day, and you will often have the
experience of having professional help for "free" because
of the savings.
Shopping at the World Market Center in Las Vegas
I can go any time with one or more clients at $65.00 per hour (that
includes travel time... Usually at least 6 hours, for a total of $390
min and you drive.) It costs nothing to park or get in...like other
design centers in CA. or Colorado. We can shop from 10 am to 5 pm and
buy at an incredible discount at any of the 42+ stores there. This is
where the furniture stores in this area, and all over the west coast,
get their goods and then of course they have to mark them way up, and
for "sales", a bit down.

"From start to finish, we were very pleased with what she did. She listened to our wants and needs and then applied this knowledge to her expertise.
She is very friendly and personable. Everything is done in a very prompt and professional manner.
She kept very close contact with us through the whole process. Every measurement was made exactly, and she was present during the installation process.
Her prices are very good; well below what her competitors charge. And we would highly recommend her to anyone."
