Our Bios

KayLynn McNeal
Allied ASID, NKBA, Owner and Interior Designer

Interiors By Design services include both residential and commercial design. We can provide: window coverings, floor coverings, furniture, accessories, color consulting, space planning, lighting design, kitchen and bath design and much more. KayLynn McNeal, IBD’s President, has worked on projects all over the United States including high-end residential, offices, banks, schools, hotels, jewelry stores, radio stations, malls, hair salons and restaurants, etc.

As a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, KayLynn continues her education by attending national conferences and seminars. She is currently the Financial Officer for the largest chapter in ASID, 2 year term. And she is also the Southern Utah State Representative. She is a featured guest speaker at local high school interior design classes, as well as college and design schools both locally and in Nevada. She regularly speaks at Women’s groups and conferences on various design topics.

In 2007 KayLynn was elected President of the Southwest Desert Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) serving 2 year term, this is the Southern Utah and Las Vegas area. Previous to that she was the chapters Secretary for 2 years. Through this association KayLynn continues to grow and learn in the kitchen and bath industry.

As an Allied ASID Interior Designer, KayLynn has published numerous articles. She started our local paper’s Decorating Tips column several years ago and wrote for the paper for over 2 years. She has also been featured in the St. George Magazine several times, and was an Editor for Homeowners Magazine for one year. Her design ideas have been quoted in a national magazine, The Window Fashions Magazine as well. She has also been approached by HGTV a couple of times to submit work and ideas.

KayLynn moved to Southern Utah from Southern California. She opened her current design studio 7 years ago and her designer showroom in 2004. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University, and a member of the Window Coverings Association, Southern Utah Home Builders (SUHBA), ASID, NKBA and the Chamber of Commerce.

Melinda Miknuk
Marketing and Talent Agent

Melinda handles PR, Marketing, and manages KayLynn’s speaking engagements. She has been working for Interiors by Design for 5 years. Melinda is not an employee of interiors by design, but a sub-contractor. She has been a Marketing manager in a video and print advertising company in Newport Beach California managing a dozen employees.

Melinda has owned her own businesses in the past and continues to be entrepreneurial. She tries new marketing techniques for herself and only recommends the best products and services. Melinda often does graphic design for her clients using Photoshop which she is proficient in. She is available to take new clients at this time and can be reached at luckystars700@yahoo.com.
